There's no indicator to the user that anything was updated or saved, which has led some users to wonder whether anything was (the only way to verify it is to log out and in and see if the same panel selections and information reloads from the database). Even just bold text at the top of the page after it reloads, reading "Panel etc. preferences saved." could reduce this confusion.
This is probably needed for the profile form also.
