I want to propose a new "baseplate" for the fusion addon that you can generate to stack on larger boxes that has the standard "light, skeletonized, and full" But the underside of it will have the outer edges of a regular gridfinity box, but essentially like one slot "grid" box Like the image below that i quickly generated 4x4 "single" gridfinity box, but it would just have the height of a regular bottom grid and it's walls would go flush with the rest of the boxes, but inside on top will have the hollowed out slots for as many grids as the box it'll sit on has.
