Tahiti (280x) and 290x crash the pc after few minutes of Ergo mining #738

Gm, i have both cards Tahiti and Hawaii which starts mining ergo at normal hashrate of 55 and 59 mhash. Sometimes after a minute or sometimes after 5+ minutes they actually stop and pc crashes. Tried with mining once at time but the same happens. Temps are ok (less than 65c) and bioses are ultra stable with ethereum. OS is Manjaro 20 and using lolminer 1.32a.

While it's probably not related to the crashing, you should know lolminer has a bug with hawaii still that causes 30-60% of shares to be invalid. https://github.com/Lolliedieb/lolMiner-releases/issues/693

Fiy i have done a cross checking on another motherboard and rx570 cards. I have a crash too but as a matter of fact the bioses have been ok with ethash and lolminer for months. Only Ergo is unstable so far.

Fixed the problem on Tahiti by updating to 20.45 amdgpu drivers. The 290x still crash&send stale share messages. Even if it wont be fixed im happy at least the 280's are fully working.

Could you test 1.34? It has been updated the - Fixed a bug with invalid shares in Pitcairn Ergo Zombie mode. Let's see if that helps

Tested, 280x works and 290x still gives stale share errors + crash. I again checked my bios for stability and it is rock solid. Btw a strange thing i noticed is the 280x is mining at 44 mh/s at 900/1200 core mem, while the 290x at 615/550 core mem is already at 35 mh/s. Could it be something related to intensity of mining that overload the gpu? hope it helps
