Feature Request - always show max difficulty notes in grey #161

Great mod! Awesome work!

I get thrown off with the missing notes on lower difficulty. I keep playing "extra notes" just to be on beat. I'm not good enough to play in fully mastered mode, but it would be nice if it showed me all of the notes that exist

it would be amazing to have an option to enable all of the notes but greyed out while playing at lower that 100% difficulty.

Is something like this possible?

This is something we likely will not pursue. There would be a lot of work involved and I'm not quite sure what the benefit would be. I think you'd just end up with your screen being cluttered with a bunch of stuff you're not being asked to play.

We don't keep track of note data in the mods, and "grey notes" is not something we can easily apply to specific notes. We only have an option that says for any notes before X time, make them grey, which the game already does.

I suggest turning up the difficulty a little bit more so it's challenging but maybe not all the way up. That way you can still see the notes in the song (and keep track of the beat) but not feel as bad when you see the results screen.

What about a hotkey to temporary set the difficulty to max?

Hold [key] for master difficulty?

Currently I have to go to the riff repeater and change the difficulty there since it changes it for the current song as well

I still don't think this will be very useful. You just end up showing useless information to the user as they aren't graded on it.

because i want to toggle max difficulty mid song as im learning different instead of going into riff repeater and using a slider, i can just check what it will look like

having a dedicated button to toggle or "hold to show" max difficulty would be really beneficial to me.
