[Feature Request] in-game tab view (maintaining colored notation) #188

I was trying to learn a few songs, with some weird chords change that are too complicated to learn on the fly with the game, even at low speed when we are just beginning to understand how the song goes.

What was always useful to me in this situation (since I learned songs reading tabs), is to look at the tab, from a bigger perspective, to get a general idea of how the song progresses, and then, after memorizing this, I can move on to the little details and try to start playing it from the beginning.

I don't know if it's possible, but being able to pause the song for a moment, and take quick look at some part of it, in a tab perspective, without exiting the game, and in the same colored-notation the game uses would be very useful, to both learn the song, and get more used to the game notation at a slower pace.

Let's be clear, I'm not asking to export a tab and view it with guitar pro or notepad. I'm thinking about being able to display the song in-game with the same colored notation, but switching the camera so we can look at it horizontally, just like a tab, but maintaining the in-game notation, helping us to also learn the song "in the rocksmith way".

Maybe look into "charter" software that's mainly focused on making cdlc for rs14 and has similar preview feature.

RSMods won't be able to fulfil your feature request. Maybe, you'll be satisfied with R+ tab view or note by note mode in RR there? The best way would be indeed export it to tab and learn it yourself until it clicks, or as an option - split cdlc into smaller chunks and practice each chord progression in RR. I has had several requests for helping people split cdlc for smaller chunks to learn. Have fun!

It seems charter already has what I've been looking for thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
