[x] I understand that should I be in a position to receive funds from MAGIC Grants for any reason, I will need to provide identifying information to the organization privately. Election to a committee does not guarantee compensation even if compensation is made available, since MAGIC Grants has legal limitations on how it can disburse funds.
[x] I understand that an active committee is the number one factor in a Fund's success.
[x] I am at least 18 years old.
The MAGIC Monero Fund can play a dynamic role in supporting the growth and livelihood of a flourishing cryptocurrency sector that sits at the cross-roads of economics and politics. I wish to channel my energy into the research and communication required to grow MAGIC and the Monero Fund into a pivotal non-profit while staying true to a cypherpunk ethos (privacy, FOSS, social change, etc).
I've been active in the Monero-related discussions on Reddit, Twitter, and Matrix/IRC since 2020. For the past 2-years I have consistently been a passive live-audience to or read logs from #Monero-Dev, #Monero-Research-Lab, and #Monero-Research-Lounge discussions and meetings. I stay abreast with CCS proposals, ecosystem updates, and network metrics.
I've made a few dozen edits to the Monero entry on Wikipedia and have also added Monero-related information to the entries for Ring Signature and Esperanto. I've run nodes + miners, and enjoy responding to queries or offering assistance in /r/monerosupport, /r/moneromining, and the main sub's weekly discussion thread. And I'm currently a voting member of the MAGIC Monero Fund.
My educational background is in art & technology and I have professional experience in ecommerce, photography, farming, and small business management. I see my role within the committee as that of a researcher, writer, communicator, and organizer.
I will investment my time and energy to collaborate with fellow committee members to ensure the fund continues to identify and invest in novel research, development, audits, and community resources. Together we will play a crucial role in expanding our base of users, donors, and affiliated developers & researchers.
We will achieve this through education and empowerment while always seeking to be the positive change or the "good trouble, necessary trouble."
