MSNLD Client

The MSNLD Client hosts the MSN Chat Control on your computer.

System requirements

• Microsoft Windows 7 or later
• .Net 6.0 Desktop Runtime (x86)
• MSN Chat Control 4.5

If you don't have the MSN Chat Control installed, MSNLD Chat Client will install it for you. You may be prompted to provide Administrator access to download and install the MSN Chat Control. This is only required once, to register the MSN Chat Control on your PC.

MSN Chat Control Keyboard Shortcuts

CTRL+A = Action

Send an action to the chatroom

CTRL+G = Ignore

Ignores the selected nicknames

CTRL+M = Me

Selects your nickname in the nicklist

CTRL+S = Send

Sends a message to the chatroom

CTRL+W = Whisper

Send a whisper (private message) to the selected users

CTRL+Y = Away

Toggles your away status

MSN Chat Control Commands

In the chatroom window, there are 8 commands that can be used to perform different actions.

/action <text>

Send an action to the chatroom (same as /me <text>)

/away

Toggles your away status

/clear

Clears the text displayed in the chatroom

/credits

Opens up a browser window with the MSN Chat Team community (no longer available)

/invite <nickname>

Invites a user to the current chatroom

/me <text>

Send an action to the chatroom (same as /action <text>)

/part

Leaves the chatroom you are currently in

/pass [password]

Opens the "Log in as Host" dialog

/topic <new topic>

Sets the topic for the chatroom

/quit

Leaves the chatroom and navigates to the MSN Chat Homepage (no longer available)

/version

Reports the MSN Chat Control version
