This has its good and bad points, while this might get people to link their account, those unable to register (such as under 13s) will be angry like Lukas has said. While I could go on and on about these points, I feel like the ones I have said are key points.
What I originally believed would suffice for something like this is a more advanced slowdown/lockdown moderation command that would allow for only specific types of people to chat.
The command would go like so:
/chat mute <option>
option
would be what type of restriction we would want on the chat, so for example, if I wanted to only have staff chatting, I would put staff
, however, if I wanted linked accounts to be able to chat as well, I would type in linked
.I talked about this on the Meta Discord two days ago with Lukas and others on the possible implementation of a command like this in the future. Ultimately, this wouldn't be the complete fix to things such as bot spam, it would just be a nice feature in the already existing /chat mute
command.

Yes! Please add this lol. Should I add this to the issue or do you wanna make a new one?
You could just edit this issue to include that information and use another title.
Instead of multiple options, I'd rather have a command which when done in one lobby, mutes all lobbies. As well as the ability to add a "slow mode" similar to Discord in the lobby. Overall though, I believe that any form of anti-bot system whether that be a redo of the current captcha or chat muting will be beneficial in eventually being able to handle bots much better.

I think the command could just use a flag to indicate whether or not it's a global mute and include the multiple options. If there's already a local mute on the specified lobby, this local mute would override the global mute until the local mute is removed. To remove the global mute, you would just do /chat -g unmute
.
Issue updated 👍
Feature request
Platform Ingame, both
Describe the feature Due to the recent spamming, I think that there should be a toggle moderation command that allows mods to toggle "levels" of protection.
Command:
/chatmute [-a/-s] <open/verified/closed>
-a = all lobbies -s = silent, i.e. you wanted to not tell ppl chat was opened
How the feature is useful Helps mods better
