Connects to #249. Hot Fix - Search by protein id broken. #250

Key Changes:

Fixed bug in the event when a protein id is entered to be searched. Clicking the Search button returns no results or any kind of feedback in the UI. This bug was likely introduced when implementing a prior fix to address issues in which a user manually entered a gene symbol or metabolite name.

Jimmy, is the fix on the production portal?

I tried it on the dev, it works on a protein id but when I swtich to the metabolomics button and enter: 8,9-EpETrE and click on the search button, it returns no result. However if I try a the 2nd metabolite and it worked and then come back to the 8,9-EpETrE, it works again.
