5 Forge and distribute governance token #21

Forge and distribute governance token as outlined in token distribution model (if multi-asset wallet is ready) (CONFIRM WITH @Dan.Mercurius VIA TOKEN MINTING TEST).

This milestone needs to be broken down into sub-tasks / more specific issues.

I don't have any CLI setup so far, hence what I did first:

I'm following this tutorial that is written for the Testnet. My next task is to tweak it so it works for Mainnet.

Since this is the first time I'm using the Cardano-CLI, it could be I might be a bit slow. If anyone has insight or links to Mainnet tutorials, please do not hesitate to share.

EDIT: found out I need to start a relay node, so setting this up now according to this guide

Brew command in OSX has been discontinued due to security reasons... @stephen-rowan any ideas how I can install the dependencies in one command? or would i need to install them one by one?! https://docs.cardano.org/projects/cardano-node/en/latest/getting-started/install.html

@stephen-rowan About the task title: I was under the impression I should mint the kudos token for us to play around. which at a later stage can be exchanged for a gov token. Or am I mistaken?

Sorry @DanM3rcurius - no current experience of those systems (on my "to learn" list !). Do we need more Development support here ?

This task (issue) is a Top-Level Milestone (A Fund 3 Deliverable) and needs to be broken down into smaller issues. I am still working through the Business Plan so it will be a few days before we get to lower level issues.

DELIVERABLE UPDATE:

It is estimated that this deliverable is currently at the 20% completion mark.

Initial experiments in token minting and distribution have been initiated by @DanM3rcurius @hududed @TheAncientKraken. This deliverable is postponed on the following fronts:

  1. The degree of planning and expertise required for this deliverable had been under-estimated, since there have been many other factors to consider when building a tokenomics and engagement pathway. A proposal for further development has been forwarded here. If successful, this part of the project won't be initiated until Q4 2021.   2. Two of the three contributors to token minting have since moved on and further expertise will need to be sought.
