Keep an eye on this space for updates to the single point tooling in ctsm: https://github.com/ESCOMP/CTSM/pull/1360. This is related to the NEON-NCAR work: https://github.com/ESCOMP/CTSM/projects/34

see also ctsm: ESCOMP/CTSM#1278, which will also include compsets for single point cases. Maybe one of these can be for FATES too, @ekluzek ?
