Import VAT must be paid on the purchase abroad, as there will be a reverse charge. I must therefore pay attention to include VAT in the amount. The VAT is 25% of the purchase amount.
If the labels are used in connection with research, purchases can be exempted from customs duties. In this case, I have to inform the importer about the procedure code, which will be 4000C11. The procedure code is used to obtain the duty exemption.
You must finally return if further questions should arise.

Sciamed

Quote. Looks like there may be latex in the ribbon. It is unclear how big of a problem this could be. Not found anyone yet who has oddy tested this product. Used by Kew, NHM (London), RBGE.
Need to update this quote with our label dimensions, find out whether VAT is applicable or whether this can be made in and shipped from Europe. Also need to know whether there are sill supply issues (reported by RBGE)

@chelseagraham When you have a spare moment. This is the most urgent of the "other" things to follow up on. Need to find some product specifications for these online and then get a quote. Check there are no supply issues.

Don't kill me, but I put in a request for a quote from an American company that Justin mentioned. Turns out, labels for herbarium sheets is one of their areas of expertise. They are called Watson Label Products https://www.wlp.com/herbarium-labels.html We can definitely ignore this option.

7/21 Turns out 2 grams of labels is a lot of labels! I had requested enough labels to carry out multiple oddy tests (2 grams minimum for each test) and Les let me know that it would likely be the equivalent of thousands of labels. I think we need to decide how serious we are about oddy testing. What metallic materials on the herbarium sheets or in the folders are we concerned that acidic and corrosive species from the labels may interact with? Are we willing to wait (30 days testing period), we are willing to purchase some material to test, and we are willing to pay for testing.
