We need to write a protocol for checking all new taxon names imported into Specify from the Digitisation App.
A new taxon flag should be added to taxon records that are created within Specify as a result of an import from the App. We need to generate a report of these/group them in Specify and send them to assigned collection managers/curators on an agreed regular basis. Once the taxa have been checked and/or merged with another taxon record (ensuring linked catalogue records remain), the new taxon flag can be unticked.
We should run regular reports to check that these are being dealt with.
Once we have the draft protocol, Pip should seek a meeting with the relevant sections to agree on who should do this work, how often they should receive them and in what format.
We should decide how to monitor the stats for this and set up any relevant spreadsheets to record this.
Once implemented, this should be one of the regular data tasks.
