AKA accordions. A way of hiding details and allowing users to click to see more.

Let's workout what the content use case is for these before implementing them.

Android63 commented 7 years ago

I'm currently using this on the "partners" ribbon (where the list of partners is too long to display in one line). One other possible use could be with the "More" tag in Wordpress, where a post excerpt is displayed with the rest available on click. Apart from that, it may be used on forms. But I agree, we need to decide when it's needed.

I thought the 'partners' ribbon already had the hidden feature built in by harry? The concept of hidden copy could be used in many instances sometimes on forms, error messages on forms, in main copy, list items... that kind of stuff.

Gov.uk elements states 'Use this to make your page easier to scan, only showing contextual information when required.'

@Android63 can you check the Nightingale repo, as @Pro-Paul says, this should already be in if I understand correctly.

Android63 commented 6 years ago

@cehwitham and @Pro-Paul the styling is built into Nightingale, but we have to create the appropriate markup ourselves (since we're using HTML5 details/summary elements).

I think this is resolved now and the partnership banner has been implemented as required.
