I'd be rather if we adjusted the HTF cycle to be more realistic in terms of timeflow. Bluntly, nobody will go from fed to starving in an hour, and it's REALLY irksome during events and long RP sessions, ESPECIALLY in "official" places, where it often feels like a Snickers advertisement campaign. Dmitra Flass casts Baleful Polymorph on an individual whose stomach keeps growling "You're not you when you're hungry! Have a Snickers!"
I believe these should be combat log notifications, until maybe the very last chance or two to warn a character, because they're disruptive to roleplay. It's hard to have a serious scenario without breaking the immersion:
appears parched yawns gulp gulp gulp
Part of this suggestion may be personal bias, too, but even beyond the disruptive nature of the emotes, they're also a bit of an eyesore. There seems to be an almost-even split of roleplayers using asterisks versus narrative prose/quotes on the server, and those that do use asterisks still lean towards emotes of a higher quality than what's presented by the HTF system.
Please move these to private notifications, rather than chat spam.
