The current system for furniture decoration is functional, but can be finicky and time consuming. With our resident NUI God on the staff team, and the various improvements that have been made with NUI in general, I got to wondering:
Is it possible to implement the current decoration system into a NUI menu?
The process would be as follows:
Select an item with the master key or the !nearest command.
Receive a NUI pop-up with available commands:
Rotate
Move (cardinal directions) with a typing box or selection box that allows you to choose between intensity 0.01 to 1.00.
Pick Up
Sell
"Claim All Inventory" for Containers
Raise / Lower
Select Nearby Item (and prompted with a list of nearby placed items, for those annoying unclickable ones).
It would also be nice to be able to mark an item so that it can be examined with a custom description. Rather than a generic statue of a knight, maybe it's an art project from the player's character, or the character's ancestor, a Thayan knight? This would be especially nice for books, paintings, and the like.
