Erroneous behavior when working simutaniously with two or more git repos #1356

Open Bekaboo opened 1 month ago

Bekaboo commented 1 month ago

Description

When two files in different git repos are opened in two tabpages, executing :Neogit in one of the tabpages does not always open neogit for the corresponding file.

Neovim version

NVIM v0.10.0 Build type: Release LuaJIT 2.1.1716656478

Operating system and version

Linux 6.9.2-arch1-1

Steps to reproduce

  1. mkdir dir1 dir2 && cd dir1 && touch file1.txt && git init && cd ../dir2 && touch file2.txt && git init && cd ..
  2. nvim -u minimal.lua dir1/file1.txt +'tabnew dir2/file2.txt' +'lcd dir2' +'tabprev' +'lcd dir1'
  3. :Neogit --> neogit opened for dir1
  4. gt to goto tabpage containing file2
  5. :Neogit --> does not bring cursor to the neogit tabpage (Expected: opens a new tabpage or split for dir2 depending onkind config)
  6. 1gt to goto the the tabpage containing file1
  7. :Neogit --> brings cursor to the neogit tabpage, but the neogit is opened for dir2 git repo (Expected: opens a new tabpage/split or reuse exising tabpage/split for dir1 and bring cursor to the neogit tabpage/window)

Expected behavior

As described above

Actual behavior
