Neogit fails to start when an untracked file name is just a number #1399

Closed lukpank closed 6 days ago

lukpank commented 6 days ago

Description

Untracked file with name which is just a number such as 11 triggers error (a safety check) in RendererIndex:add_id() checking that an id is not a number using tonumber(id) as a test.

Neovim version

NVIM v0.10.0 Build type: Release LuaJIT 2.1.1706185428

Operating system and version

Linux

Steps to reproduce

  1. touch ~/some-git-repo/11
  2. run nvim -nu minimal.lua
  3. enter the repository :cd ~/some-git-repo
  4. run neogit :Neogit
  5. run :messages
  6. run neogit again :q and then :Neogit

Expected behavior

Neogit should start without a problem.

Actual behavior

Neogit fails (for the first time shows "0000000 (no commit)") with traceback in :messages (the second run shows the traceback explicitly):

...minimal/.min/plugins/plenary/lua/plenary/async/async.lua:18: The coroutine failed with this message: ...nimal/.min/plugins/neogit/lua/neogit/lib/ui/renderer.lua:37: Cannot use an integer ID for a component
