Request: Higher quality images on deckbuilder #549

A year or so ago the cards were very clear quality on the deckbuilder area. I could sit on my phone or tablet and do deck draws, and clearly read what the cards said.

Then at some point that stopped being the case, and now on pc tablet or phone the images are useless. Can't work out the wording, and I'm not enough of a master to have them all memorised by image alone.

Please can whatever change happened be undone? I spent a while hoping it would, then forgot about the game. I want to get back into it, but this is the roadblock.

Hello! Sorry you are having trouble on NRDB.

As a workaround, you can click on the cards in the decklist and see their art and full text to help you recognize them a bit more.

These are the "small" size images and as such, the text is not super readable, as you have seen. We made use-appropriate image sizes a while back to keep the site performing better.

Since these cards are cards in the deck you are building, we haven't previously had reports of this as a problem. Clicking the cards in the draw simulator just greys them out for now. Having those also do a pop-up probably changes too much about the draw simulator and poses problems for mobile devices that don't have a hover event like a desktop does.

Heya,

Yeah making them click to enhance won't be ideal. So nothing that can be done to return the images to the quality they were then? It was super handy clicking through draw tests on the website.

Or perhaps the deck images could be downloaded locally to allow for higher quality?

hi. I'm actually working on moving all of our images to a CDN and off the server itself which will unblock this for us. Stay tuned.

Ooh that's magnificent! One of the biggest blockers for me playing at the mo is the loss of a good draw tester, so this will get me back into it!

Afternoon,

Just doing my "i want to get back into netrunner" check to see if there's any movement on this? Keen to get back into it, but without the higher image quality on the 5 card draw it's a no go unfortunately.

@plural In discussions, it was mentioned that nobody had advocated for this issue. This is me registering interest for higher quality images to be served - ideally substantially higher quality such as 1200dpi.
