Contigs number less than chromosome number #132

I used Nextdenovo to assemble a tomato accession (100X ont), but the contigs number only 10 less than the chromosome number (12 chromosomes). The assemble size is normal. Whether nextdenovo over pursuit the length of contigs N50 ? How to adjust the parameter ?
