How to install on ARK Survival Ascended ? #35

Touhma commented 10 months ago

I tried to put dbghelp.dll & dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll in ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64 But no popup, nothing changed at all.

Am I missing anything ?

Bwdodd commented 10 months ago

I think the DLSS files are located in: ARK Survival Ascended\Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64

Maybe try putting the files there? Let me know if that helps

Touhma commented 10 months ago

Yup confirmed this is the way :)

Went in High setting on a rtx 2080TI from a 30-35fps to a solid 50-60fps in 1440p with dlss on performance

Frame Gen OFF + Super Resolution OFF : 25 FPS Frame Gen OFF + Super Resolution ON ( balanced ) : 27 FPS Frame Gen OFF + Super Resolution ON ( Performance ) : 30 FPS Frame Gen ON + Super Resolution OFF : 40-45FPS Frame Gen ON + Super Resolution ON ( Performance ) : 50-55 FPS

At the same point :)

That is awesome, I'm glad it works really good with Ark Ascended!

I cant for the life of me get this to work. Just like the OP im getting no pop up and Frame gen setting is grayed out. I tried putting the files in ARK Survival Ascended\Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\DLSS\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64 like Bwdodd said but its still not working for me :-/ .

I tried too but I didn't get the popup :'(

Make sure you turn on GPU hardware acceleration in your Windows settings otherwise the magic won't happen.

I also was having issues getting this working. Ran the registry editor, then copied the files to where Bwdodd said to, but got no pop-up. So then I copied the files into the same folder as the .exe, then launched through steam. No pop-up, but I did get a notification from BattleEye saying it blocked one of the .dll files. Launching the bare ArkAscended.exe however launched it with the pop-up, and allowed me to enable frame gen after turning on Nvidia Reflex. Hope this helps people!

@TheKraahkan Thank you this worked for me also. The files need to be where the .exe file is located.

I have a serious problem, the files work, and are located in the game's exe folder, but I can't play on any server...

TheKraahkan commented 10 months ago

I also had this issue and forgot to update my post. I assume every time you click "join game" the server browser pops up for a second and then you get kicked back to menu? For some reason the bare exe doesn't allow the server browser to open. I went in to the game's properties on steam and changed the launch option to the no battle eye version (go to launch options and there should be a drop down arrow). I also added a couple of command line launch options, but can't remember what they were and I'm not sure if they were needed. I was able to connect to my personal server this way, but I had a lot of crashes on load-in until I re-ran the game with battle eye enabled, connected to the server, then closed the game, switched back to non battleeye, then rejoined. I did notice a lot more hiccups when playing with the mod, just as a warning to everyone.
