at the moment im testing the first part of the game, but the new version 0.50 its working, path tracing + dlss fg 120 fps no crash so far

kaishajacob commented 11 months ago

how were you able to get aw2 to work with this mod? its showing the popup but frame generation is still greyed out.

Z4ndyz commented 11 months ago

I'll let you know what i did for cp2077 with dlsstweaks maybe it'll work for you

Basically get the latest DLSSTweaks and copypaste it's nvngx.dll and dlsstweaks.ini and put them near the .exe of the game The included EnableNvidiaSigOverride.reg can install this tweak for you (the tweak can also be removed via the DisableNvidiaSigOverride.reg) use it from dlsstweaks rightclick and hit merge

Now get 0.50dlsstweaksedition and add the wrapper dll and fsr3 dll and follow the readme instructions from it

DLSSTweaks may be obtained from: https://github.com/emoose/DLSSTweaks dlssg-to-fsr3 may be obtained from: https://github.com/Nukem9/dlssg-to-fsr3

================================ ===== Install instructions =====

  1. Locate your game's installation directory with DLSSTweaks (e.g. _nvngx.dll) installed.

  2. Copy "dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll" and "dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll" to your game's installation directory.

  3. Find "dlsstweaks.ini" and open it in Notepad.

  4. Find the line "[DLLPathOverrides]" after scrolling down to the middle of the INI file.

  5. Find the line ";nvngx_dlssg = C:\Users\Username...\nvngx_dlssg.dll" underneath.

  6. Replace the line with "nvngx_dlssg = C:\Path\To\The\Game\dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll".

You MUST TYPE THE FULL DLL PATH and remove the ";" at the beginning. Dlssg-to-fsr3 may not work otherwise.

  7. Done. Launch the game. You'll see a message box on startup.

It has to be specifically dlsstweaks' nvngx.dll(from emoose), dont use the one from 0.50 nondlsstweaks edition

[DLLPathOverrides] nvngx_dlssg=E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll for cp2077 looks like this for me

Let me know if it works

Pokkita commented 11 months ago

i used the nondlsstweaks one

crazyazz commented 11 months ago

It does work, but it seems like its making it seem worse than with frame generation off.

MSF2020 also did this.

Ayan-Banerjee-918 commented 11 months ago

For me, it works fine.. Runs better than fg off... Only the playable character is ghosting, rest everything is fine..

you only need one. i'd just use the non dlss tweaks one as you don't have to tamper with as many things. AW2 is like the only game it doesn't wanna work on in my system.

alex-enginity commented 11 months ago

Confirmed.

I can't believe what I'm seeing. RTX 3090 Ti. I was getting 33 FPS with "High" preset, Raytracing in Low and Ray Reconstruction. Unplayable of course.

Now I'm getting a solid 61 FPS almost all the time and super smooth gameplay, no need to tweak Vsync or anything, it simply works!!!

This is what I've used. Simply copy these files into your game folder and modify the path for the dlssg_dlsstweaks_wrapper.dll to your game path, that's it !! I've tested both version until I found the combination that worked. I made a Zip file for easy copying.

alan-wake-2-fsr3.ZIP

This is gonna change EVERYTHING. DLSS3 Frame Generation is such a scam... my god. If AMD can compete with a software solution to what NVIDIA came up with "hardware", forcing us to believe that WE needed to upgrade to have Frame Generation....

This is even worse than when NVIDIA made us believe that we needed NVIDIA Hair or NVIDIA Physx by forcing a super unoptimized path for Phsyx...

And we are not even talking about Native FSR3 implementation here.. this is a wrapper to replace DLSS3FG for FSR3 in a game as complex as Alan Wake 2. I'm still navigating the game and I can't find a single visual glitch. I'm speechless. I've discovered a new toy !!!

I've noticed a large amount of visual hitching / stuttering and sometimes there's a horizontal black bar for a split second as well. Weird, maybe it's because I'm on an RTX 3060 XC (12GB)? I doubt it, since for others here seem to be working. If anyone else experiences this same issue let me know please. It seemed like when I first installed it, it was working fine. Then after 5 mins of playing it started doing this. Restarted the game and same thing happened unfortunately.

Also, I'm using the newest emoose nvngx.dll as well as the dlsstweaks version of the mod and have correctly set my DLL override as well in my ini and it seems to be loading. In-game I've set my options for DLSS on Ultra Quality as well as FG enabled. Is this correct?

Can't wait to try this out on Cyberpunk now, really couldn't believe the performance and less artifacts with this mod compared to regular DLSS but more noticeably there's ghosting around the character like someone else mentioned and when you move fast there's some ghosting from the character as well. Was a little improvement over regular DLSS imo.

Ghosting because of the "vaunted" dlss... FG It’s not he fault, he only increases the ghosting that already existed. need to wait or mod fsr3+fg or new dlss version..

So if we use FSR as an upscaler in the game instead of DLSS the ghosting will go?

younes-bfd commented 11 months ago

Works for me! There's some ghosting on the character but i can tolerate it since i wouldn't be able to play the game without FG in the first place Rtx 2060 super getting 80+ fps Edit: somehow after playing for a while character ghosting is barely visible

After going to my dlssstweaks.ini and finding "[DLSSQualityLevels]" setting this to False I think fixed my weird black bar and weird flickering and visual hitching. I've also set my presets all to C as well as Auto Exposure forced on. Now I definitely notice the ghosting and a few flickers too. But honestly for me this is a better trade off compared to the artifacts and quality degradation I noticed using regular DLSS, but maybe it's just a placebo. I think at least for me, the performance improvement is worth it although I am running in 4k so 26 fps in areas now at 45 - 40 fps.

Also, whenever I try and enable any ray tracing option it causes issues like I mentioned previously, visual hitching and I noticed a black horizontal bar flicker for a split second as well.

It only works on the pirated game. The original game on Epic doesn't work with this mod. EDITED: Works with this -> EPIC Version

YES it works. Use my files if you must. Just copy over the root folder and it will simply work. It's just that I've used a combination from the original dlssg-to-fsr3 and DLSSTweaks to make it work.

YES it works. Use my files if you must. Just copy over the root folder and it will simply work. It's just that I've used a combination from the original dlssg-to-fsr3 and DLSSTweaks to make it work.

DLSS3FG-to-FSR3.zip

It worked. Thanks m8 👍 But now the game looks "choppy", with or without V-Sync 😪

You're welcome!. Maybe we could fill the spreadsheet they are doing here with the actual files packed in a ZIp for every game?. WIll be a lot easier for people to install this.

To remove character ghosting effect do this :

  1. Open folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Remedy\AlanWake2
  2. Open file renderer.ini
  3. Turn this "m_bLensDistortion": true to false
  4. Save
  5. Profit !
