Inital arm prototype #40

The arm will be mounted on the base (probably ~0.5m off the ground) and will need to pick up a variety of objects that are up to 5kg. We haven't been given the details of the objects yet so it might be best to first design the arm and leave the gripper at the end for later. Please design the arm with thoughts of which motors to use and whether they can take the force required. Some parts that could be used in the arm design: Linear actuator http://www.pololu.com/product/2313/specs Very strong servos: http://www.pololu.com/product/1390 (very expensive too...) This is what I have so far. This design has two servos but I'm not sure if servos in general are strong enough to lift the 5kg load.
