OpenDreamKit legacy book. #280

We are looking into putting together an academic monograph (book) with overview articles, which (as a whole) would give a record of what we achieved as the OpenDreamKit project in these four years.

Special book collections are just one way of leaving an academic legacy, but an important one in the academic world, so I think that this enterprise is worth doing. We have brainstormed some more about that on the Wednesday meeting in Luxembourg, and we have a pad full of ideas.

The main idea is that overview papers might share substantial parts with the "final report deliverables" and that we would the ball rolling on the ODK book early to make use of such synergies. I would like to finish the book soon after the final ODK review in October 2019, and already have a list of articles and some first drafts to show off there (which would help our outreach).

The pad has a list of topics and some names attached to it. But there are some white spaces on the ODK landscape that I would like to see filled.

I think one of the first tasks is to refine the list of possible papers and names, and come up with a pitch for the book, which I can then take to publishers.

I might be interested in submitting something on how ODK has affected my transition out of academia.
