Open Heroines is an international online community of over 330 women and growing, who work in the fields of open government, open data, and civic tech (also known as the “open” spaces).
Open Heroines was conceived in 2015, and today, the group is a safe virtual space (via Slack) where women can meet like-minded women, share their experiences, get advice, promote job opportunities, share their work, and organise events to amplify the voices of women and their work.
One of the channels in which Open Heroines amplifies women’s voices in our spaces is the Medium blog (https://openheroines.org/), where we also advocate for the representation of women in events, policies, and processes.
