Can we change the contribution guidelines to not require a fork or a staging branch? I proved to be a source of burden for such a small team. Instead, guys like @jpfeuffer need to build his own branch etc. spending time for things he should spend otherwise.

Fork is fine. But RTD should definitely be optional. Every reviewer can just easily build a PR locally in 2 minutes if we think it is necessary. This will keep away a lot of contributors.
