Looking back through my installed skills, at least one skill (the first to install) did pull from the specified branch.. I'll try to get some good logs to analyze..

This was only gonna happen to GitHub and only sometimes. It was a matter of merge_dict picking its favorite value, sometimes clobbering a passed branch.
