[Bug]: 1.16.5: Remove org.yaml from forge mod #959

Open JustRed23 opened 2 years ago

JustRed23 commented 2 years ago

Is there an existing issue for this?

Current Behavior

Hello, Magma developer here (https://magmafoundation.org/)!

The mod includes org.yaml.snakeyaml and this clashes with our version of snakeyaml causing the server to crash. This could cause more issues in the future so please remove this from your mod or update the version of snakeyaml to version 1.2.7.

Expected Behavior

The server has its own version of snakeyaml that launches correctly.

Which platforms have you reproduced this issue using?

Forge Multiplayer

OTG Version

OpenTerrainGenerator-1.16.5-0.1.10.jar

Platform Version

This server is running Magma version 1.16.5-36.2.35-60a480de (Implementing API version 1.16.5-R0.1-SNAPSHOT, Forge Version 36.2.35-60a480de)

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Download release 60a480de from magmafoundation.org
  2. Place the mod in the mods folder
  3. Launch the server

Please be advised that Magma is not an officially supported platform. We will discuss this internally.

This also occurs on Mohist and Catserver.

I have also experienced this crash using the latest Mohist (1075) while only running this mod, I also tested multiple version combinations of both OTG and Mohist, none worked in 1.16.5

The Mohist team is aware of this incompatibility but thinks that OTG should update as Mohist is running a later version:

https://github.com/MohistMC/Mohist/issues/1838

Please update the YAML within OTG for 1.16.5 as I very much would like to run OTG on my server as well as I am sure others servers would too. As this is a fantastic mod which gives us 19.2 like terrain combined with 1.16.5 mods, allowing it to remain relevant for many more years. While server software such as Mohist gives the critical performance boost required for large forge mod packs.

Here is my crash log:

This also occurs on Mohist and Catserver.

CatServer fixed.
