When the day/night cycle ticks over to nighttime, it's literally impossible to see anything. There don't seem to be any lights that can be added (there are lights on Kiosks, but not standalone AFAICT). Frankly if the day/night can't be turned off, it needs to be toned way, way down so you can see stuff.
