As of 2021, Outreach Chair has been reworked from an appointed position to an elected position. However, the Constitution does not currently reflect this change. If this becomes a fitting role for the future of Outreach in RJ, then this position could be solidified by adding it to the list of officers in the constitution.
This issue was discussed during the Core meeting of March 31st, 2021. At the time, we will not be moving forward with this amendment as the role of Outreach is still in flux, and there is no point in binding ourselves to the current state of this role until it settles down. Therefore, it was decided that further discussion of this amendment should be postponed for at least a year. If, in the future, we've decided that Outreach Chair has settled enough and should remain as an elected position, then the amendment can be voted on.
