Leonora - I haven't figured out how to forward the recordings. Do you have a computer that you can record the prompts on so you can email them? - Jack

Leonora - Can you record these 4 Swahili prompts ASAP - on your phone if necessary - and send them to Amogh and me - as .wav files if possible, otherwise as selfie videos so Amogh can extract their audio? I hadn't understood how recordings can be sent over number and assumed Whatsapp. My US number is +4123307272. Is it an MMS? Thanks

  • Please write not generated by script, not in swahili translations, but had an english prompt which I use to say "Please write" + "like this"

@amogh112 - I just forwarded each Swahili prompt attached to its own message, recorded by Leonora on her husband Joshua's laptop. The recordings each start and end with ~2 seconds of silence, which is most likely harmless but please trim it if time permits. Thanks!

I trimmed, converted and uploaded audio to the appropriate folders have updated the Swahili Translations table. Turns out that one of the prompts(Please write) was displaced by one cell in the table which explains

"There's one file named just ".wav" that presumably won't get found; it starts with "chini...""

  1. I changed the data source names to be able to play audio, therefore need to wait for the next apk.
  2. write.sen (means sentence writing activity), and further appended is copy/dic(ie dictation)/corr(ie preloaded buggy response), further appended is ltr/wrd/sen depending on the level of evaluation, further is stim/nostim(ie show stimulus vs not show stimulus).
  3. Yes, I had removed the buttons. You probably have changes from before that. -Thanks!

Thanks for explaining. I had figured out some of it when I updated my comment before reading your latest post.

Is 2. a dependency between data source name conventions and the ability to locate audio assets, and therefore relies on Kevin to make the next apk?

2.5 contains no examples of dic, ltr, or nostim, and its corr included the errors in stimulus, not just response -- now fixed, I hope, as well as other issues I reported in Sentence Writing. Can you mark (however is easiest for you) which of them you fixed, and which remain to fix?

The sentence writing activities are in good shape compared to several other activities in version 2.5. They are also much richer in terms of user interaction.

New data sources have to be put in the matrix(I think) something that Kevin is familiar with. if the data source names are same, then I can generate on my own. Learning the former shouldn't be hard, I'll certainly ask him how.

Since the apk has older code, a lot of mistakes are no longer. I have added comments in the Sentence Writing document for the same.

Letter level feedback activity seems to work robustly now, I am refining sentence and word level today. Thanks for pointing out fine mistakes that I hadn't thought of! Regards

Sir, For letter level activity with buggy feedback. Can you please expound on how you expect coloration? For example when replacement is at wrong place, what should be the coloration besides reverting the glyph to old. Also for the correct replacement should that letter be turned blue? Its easy to determine for word and sentence level feedback

When giving feedback on a wrong character, turn it red and leave it red till it’s correct, then turn it blue.

Turning an entire word red because it contains an error leaves the awkward question of what to do once zooming in to the letter level. So avoid this awkwardness by using a (red?) box to say a word or sentence contains an error.

Once an entire word is correct, maybe turn it blue and maybe say something, eg the word itself — but later; for now just fix bugs.

Back to Zeyde duty. I think Koby may have made something for me ;-).
