Reminders sound like a great Rocket.Chat Apps idea!
It's the very last function that prevents me from changing slack to Rocket Chat. Go for it DEV team.
If I could use feature "Remind me about this" I would be so happy

Where we could set a bounty for this App? This is really needed. Not some bot commands, but a BUTTON! Menu with fast snooze time selection. I'm using app on my mobile, so when view messages from work - on some I can react now, on some after dinner (so I set "remind me... in 1 hour) on other - only tomorrow, and some of messages will be needed to not forget in next week. So the menu and buttons like in Slack is needed.
This could be not in core, but this is very needed.
This is more important for work than pinned message and stared message, I guess.
Hi, any news about this feature? @Hudell @sampaiodiego
@Hudell @sampaiodiego @ggazzo Is it possible to add this feature to milestone 0.73.0 (https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat/milestone/134) or 0.74.0 (https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat/milestone/135) ?
Thank you.
We are planning to add this feature as an app, but for that to happen we still need to implement some features on our app platform (access to the scheduler, so that the notifications can be triggered properly at the right time).
Even then, it would only be accessible through a slash command until we implement interface elements on the app platform. This means that it's very unlikely that the feature will be ready for the 0.74 milestone :/
@Hudell Ok, I understand it.
Do you have any time estimate? 0.75, 0.76, ...?
If you add this feature to any upcomming milestone the chance to resolve will increase. I hope :-)
Need it!
Hi there! @slyk is saying realy useful things. Do you have any estimate? Maybe in v 1.0.0 or 1.1.0?
Indeed a must have for busy multitaskers at work. ;)
to simplify the integration, a bot litening on /remind "for what..." when
could solve that feature...
@tofixx no. Command /remind ...
is uncomfortable. You need copy text of message to remind command.
In Slack you can remind message using menu: https://ctrlv.cz/shots/2019/06/05/IWPj.png
After selected time period, user slackbot
send you message text and link to original message.
@Hudell do you have any updates?

Need it!
Last one function that stop me from going to Rocket Chat.

Yeah, it was for me too. I needed to start with some chat for my team... and thought that this small feature will be added fast, by analising the release notes seems like many not so important features added all the time this looked like should be in closes milestone.
So... Hello guys, my name is Kirill, I'm using RocketChat and I'm afraid to open unread messages on my phone, because there may be some message that I need to take action from my office, and I will be there in 2 hours. So I left them unread until that time. In other way I should copy/paste those messages to tome todo-app, and that is really annoying :(
Please make it available!
We also need it!

Please do not post +1 or me too. They are not useful. If you want to actually upvote then hit the thumbs up on the top comment. This is what actually bumps it up in the stack.
If you are doing it to get notifications. Please stop. GitHub has implemented a way to subscribe with out saying a word.
I would also like to see such a feature
I laid the foundation for this:
https://github.com/mjovanovic0/rocketchat-remind-app
But, currently, there is a limitation where you cannot bundle NPM dependencies as RCApp dependency and Rocket.Chat does not use chrono-node
and/or moment
which I use for parsing phrases into time.
Also, another issue is that it will work in current session only i.e if you close tab/window all set reminders are lost :S
when will the update be?
Issue is that it will work in current session only
Hi, any updates?
My team also need this feature!!!!!)))))))))))
People continuously asking for updates please note this is Open Source.
It will get done if someone feels like doing it, or is paid money to do it.
Begging will not help. (My team needs a weeks holiday in South Pacific - anyone want to fix that for me?)
Cash offers might.
https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat#donate https://www.bountysource.com/teams/rocketchat
You could also employ a developer to fix it and contribute the code here which will always be welcomed.
Otherwise you will just have to be patient.

I understand this is Open Source. But this feature is not even in paid Pro/Enterprise versions https://rocket.chat/pricing
I would like to donate some money for this feature.

Hello, I am Sascha and my team want's to get rid of RocketChat, because one of the most important features is not there. I am also ready to put money somewhere, but where, to get that feature? Does some developer have some time and cost estimate, to integrate a slack-like function or app into rocket chat?
Hi, any updates?
This would be some cool feature to have.
2 years of this feature request without any progress. We decided to move to Slack. Finally
Are there any updates?
Initial Scheduler functionality is landing in app engine in 3.8. So maybe someone can build an app for this :)
Will do :)
Hi, is possible to add feature "Remind me about this" for message like in Slack?
It is very useful.
