REUSE status

Future Development and Support

One of the most frequently asked questions is about the future development of the custom connector and support in case of problems. Let me summarize the current situation:

Active development of the custom connector has ceased, but as new SAP Datasphere features are delivered, any impact on the custom connector will be considered and fixes may be provided. I would recommend using the custom connector only if the current feature set is sufficient for your needs, or as a starting point for your own development.

As I have moved to a new department, I will be stepping back from supporting the custom connector and handing over to my colleague, Gustavo. Gustavo will continue to assist you with reported issues, but there is no support comparable to the standard SAP incident handling, nor can we provide any promises about fixes or resolution times.

Thank you for all the feedback and discussions over the years that have helped shape the connector to where it is today.

Description

This Git-Hub repo contains samples that enable 3rd-party clients to connect to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. As of now there is one for MS PowerBi.

Please check out the respective folders or follow the link to find the readme files and installation instructions.

Requirements

You have access to a SAP Data Warehouse Cloud tenant. This could be a full license or a trail. In addition, you need the respectiv third party client that you like to connect with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud.

As of now, there is a sample which requires MS PowerBi - rich desktop client.

Contributing

The sample is provided without any service level agreement. Please test the software before using and use it at your own risk.

Contribution to the project is welcome. Please note that SAP will request a Developer Dertificate of Origin. See here for more details.
