I'm willing to discuss this proposed reversal of (some of) #115, although I fail to see the benefit. The benefits of our current method, where businessID is a dynamic part of the route are:
no redirects (frontend is more responsive)
no complex rules for cookies (when should the cookie expire? what if it expires while shopping? what if it remains when I go to another store?)
Also, it would be best to limit discussion such discussions to these GitHub issues (instead of discord), as it's easy to forget what was said in a previous discussion. Furthermore, writing these discussions out in text has the tendency to expose any ambiguity that might slip by in normal conversation.
