Welcome to the HW01 Repository (by Ernest Lai)
This is the STAT 545A HW01 Repository of Ernest Lai, this repo contains contents for assignment 1. This README file will allow you to get to know some facts about myself (with some github markdown functions :wink:). In addition, there will be two files exploring the gapminder dataset - the hw01_gapminder file in markdown (.Rmd) and webpage format (.html).

About Myself
I am a Year 2 student in the Masters of Science program from the Faculty of School Population and Public Health (SPPH). My first name is pronounced the same as the word 'earnest', and the spelling is almost the same.

My favourite soccer team is FC Barcelona. They play an attractive offensive style, and never look to sit back to defend. Their games are very entertaining, and a lot of their combinations comes from simple plays any average player can do yet they perfect it and make it look very easy.
As mentioned earlier, my favourite vacation destination is Kyoto in Japan. Here are a few cool pictures I took during my trip this summer:
Gion is a big tourist attraction area, famed for being the geisha district. The geisha's tend to come out during the night time to their assigned venue where they entertain guests during their meals.
The Kinkakuji Temple's Golden Pavilion - another big tourist attraction.
Like the cheese tarts you see in Vancouver, except matcha flavored!
Another tourist attraction, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. This is locatd at Arashiyama, the western outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. Personally my favourite district to visit - very peaceful, quiet, and village-like (away from the tourist-y spots)
Two Truths and one False
Thank you for making it this far and hope you learned a few things about myself. As mentioned, here are the answers to the two truth's and the one false statement about myself:

I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I think that's normal for someone who wants to grow and develop. You will have to overcome plenty of obstacles, and it is normal that you should stumble sometimes.
