I didn't think about checking for skewness when deciding between the use of the mean and median -- good reminder for me.
For the first table showing countries with low life expectancy, the description was a little ambiguous. I understood the description to mean that you were looking for countries with life expectancies lower than the median for the continent that they belonged to for that particular year. But the median that you use is actually the median for each year, regardless of continent (my mis-reading!). I can definitely appreciate why you decided to use median per year as the cut-off, although I'm not sure why you group_by(continent, year) and then piped it into the filter?
Your bar chart showing min and max GDP was very helpful! I was trying to do something like that but couldn't figure out how. Now I know! Also, thanks for attempting the Optional exercise as I am able to learn of a new package from that.
Only minor comments I have are: 1) the table for Task 3 could perhaps be better formatted as the numbers are too close together, making it slightly difficult to read 2) would remove the legend for the box plot since the x-axis is already labelled.
