[EDITED] Mob Sounds Unrealistically & Sometimes Confusingly Modified by DynSFX #19

Open marubucii opened 2 years ago

marubucii commented 2 years ago

for some reason the hotbar and inventory sounds are glitched so when you switch from slot to slot or move things in inventory short clipped hostile mob noises play (like half a second of a zombie growl)

SalvieMundi commented 2 years ago

Likely caused by extra sound effects mod. Will try to reproduce and fix in the next few days.

SalvieMundi commented 2 years ago

Can not reproduce. There was an issue around this same time where resource packs were not loading properly. If you are still having this issue, upgrade to the newest version and give it a try. If you aren't still having this problem, please let me know and I will close this ticket. :)

User reports that this is still an issue in 1.0.6a.

clip for salvie.zip attached video evidence as requested, all mob sounds not noted by minecraft's subtitle thingy are from further away than should be heard

Tigerboy007 commented 2 years ago

(an unrelated but also pictured thing is that the healthbar for the void blossom is visible from the surface)

SalvieMundi commented 2 years ago

That's an issue I am aware of but unsure of the best way to fix due to the implementation of the mod author. feel free to create a new ticket, as it is a legitimate problem.

After viewing the footage and experimenting on my own, I don't think this actually has anything to do with the hot bar. I think this is totally a DynSFX issue and that the mod is incorrectly reading ray traces. We're all likely just hearing mobs that are way, way too far away to realistically make noise. Might look into the options for DynSFX and see if there is a way to reduce the distances at which mob sounds are affected.
