Version 2.25.1 does not work correctly #227

Hello. I've been using smart rss as an extension for Opera for a lot of time, and everything was great until March 2023, but since the latest updates, the extension is simply impossible to use. It doesn't work correctly:

  1. Does not download all feeds updates
  2. New feeds are not saved if you close the browser. For example, in the morning I downloaded some feeds, closed the browser, in the evening I came to open, but there are no morning feeds.
  3. I have a lot of feeds from youtube about 400 are updated very very slowly.
  4. the extension began to heavily load the CPU. Before this was not the case or it just worked faster and was unnoticeable I hope you fix the extension upd
  5. Another bug, when updating, it may stop at some feed and hang, i.e. it will not be reset further if Concurrent downloads = 1. I tried to exclude the hung feed, but at some point the spinner icon disappears and it is impossible to find out which feed the update is stuck on.

Hi @Mihellsur [i'm just another user like you]. As per https://github.com/SmartRSS/Smart-RSS/issues/222#issuecomment-1454667007, if you currently have it enabled, as a temporary workaround:

try disabling auto removal of old entries, that should allow the process to continue

It did make an improvement for me.

  1. the extension began to hang and the error "Not enough memory" came out before this was not the case.

I disabled the per-domain throttling except for a single one, that should resolve most of your issues

Thanks for the update. 1,3,4 points are fixed. Unfortunately, points 2 and 5 haven't fix yet. On 5, I noticed a pattern: if you do an update, everything freezes on 426 feed. Does the extension have a limit on the maximum number of feeds to update ? 6 I can check tomorrow night.

5, 6 points are fixed. it remains to fix the saving of uploaded feeds.

2.25.1 -> click on update all, not find nothing "today feed" go to addon downgrade to 2.23.2 -> click on update all and find all the feed od this day.

I upgraded earlier to the version 2.25.2 bug #2 remained.

I load new feed items earlier, if I closed the browser and then opened it, these new feed items were saved. After all updates, they have stopped being saved. new feed items new feed item gone

thanks, in the meantime I use the 2.23.2 version 👌

I found a pattern. When feed items are loaded I have them highlighted in blue. If you select them, the color will change to black. The items highlighted in black are saved after the browser is closed. Perhaps this will be useful for correction.
