Few bugs I found while testing Patch 1.4.0y #47

Hi there. Couple things to note:

  1. I have DarkCodex installed as well as Tabletop Tweaks - Core, Base, and Reworks, and Toy Box mods.
    • Though so far these mods have not interfered with Kineticist Expanded Elements before this patch.
  2. Dark Elementalist Archetype
  3. Doing my testing in Defender's Heart outside with Toybox spawns and in the Market Square with normal enemy spawns.

The Bugs:

  1. If you start a character (I mean respec from level 1) with Void Element (doesn't matter which blast, Gravity or Negative), Gather Power loses it's visuals.

    • If you chose to start with a different element like Water (Water Blast) and then level up to level 7 and choose Negative Blast as an expanded element the bug does not appear. Meaning the visuals for Gather Power are there. (Did not test with choosing Gravity blast but I assume it is the same.)
    • If you cheat and add to yourself the Negative (or Gravity) Blast ability (Feature) from Toy Box, Gather Power Visuals stay. Bug is not recreated.
    • Restarting game does not resolve the issue.
    • Respecing character using Toy Box and choosing a different starting element other than Void will fix the issue.
  2. The Negative Admixture ability does not appear on it's own when choosing Void Element as an expanded element at level 7.

    • Not sure if this is how the ability is meant to work or not as I have never used it before.
    • Manually adding the ability (Feature) using Toy Box will add the ability in the action bars but toggling it on does nothing.
      • No increased burn cost.
      • Doesn't add any damage to Water Blast or even make half of the damage into negative.
    • Have not tried with blasts other than Water. But if I read the tooltip correctly, it should work with any other simple blast to create a composite blast.
    • Tried with Fire Blast as well. All the way up to level 10 and Mythic rank 2. No Negative Admixture is coming.
      • Tried searching in Wild Talents, Feats, Mythic Feats, and Mythic Abilities as well. So I know it's not something I have to be manually selecting. Also not visible in those screens as not selectable and needing a prerequisite.
  3. Gravity Control Wild Talent does not seem to do anything.

    • Can cast, and it takes a move action, then nothing happens.
    • Not sure how this ability is supposed to function either but it does not seem to function.
    • Buff stays on character for 1 round in turn based combat.

If you need more information I can provide. Or screenshots. Just let me know.

Have a good day and thank you for your work!

Very strange behavior, but I can explain some I believe gather power visuals are based on your first element choice, and I have not messed with that system, so if your first element is any of the added elements, there will be no visuals

I am currently working on a large stability patch which should help be iron out any issues like that I should give you a buff, but the buff may be set to "hidden" It should give you a +3 bonus to AC vs melee, and immunity to difficult terrain And yes, the buff should only be there for 1 round, as it mimics the "flight" you would get from the tabletop version of the power (the greater version lets you do it as a free action, so the buff is toggleable)

Thank you for the response. That makes sense to me.

Anything about the Negative Admixture ability?

SpencerMycek commented 1 year ago

Negative admixture should just be a thing you get when you have negative and another energy blast. At least it’s designed that way. It is technically a composite blast
