Job Hive Web App Using React and Node.js

Description

Job Hive is a web application that aggregates all job listings from multiple sources such as Google, LinkedIn, Indeed, and Reed in one place, to help job seekers find employment opportunities easier and succeed in their job search. The application was created using React, Node.js, Tailwind, Yup, Formik, and Email.js, and it has been deployed on Netlify.

Installation

As a developer, you can install this app by cloning the GitHub repository to your local computer. Copy the HTTPS link found under the “code” tab. Open Git Bash and run the command “git clone” then pasting the GitHub link. Run the command “code .” to open the files in VS Code.

Usage

Open Job Hive in Integrated Terminal and install all dependencies by running the following command:

npm i

You can then test the app by running the command:

npm start

Future Development

Job Hive plans on adding more features as the website progresses, such as:

• Advanced search filters such as by location, salary, type (full-time, part-time), and much more.
• Career coaching
• Resume writing
• Interview preparation
• Networking opportunities
• A chatbot to aid with customer service
• More comprehensive job listings from several more sources
• Using backend technologies to add more functionality to the website
