MG5000 fw 4.76 with IP150 v 4.10 - Problem logging in #22

Hello Tertius, First of all, thank you for your work and developing this software. After managing to configure the MQTT server this is what I am getting when trying to connect to my control panel.

Nezmogus :+1: Hello, Sorry to get you wrong, I succeeded thanks to your method of retrograder my IP in 1.32. Now with the firmware 4.40 it is possible again to connect to the central static IP in infield. how to go from your version 1.32 to 4.40 (paradox)? Thank you again for your help.

@ebikarimi @nezmogus were You able to fix Your problem I have the exact same problem here, I mean, IP150 4.3, I can see it on with IP exploring tools, and also from babyware, but the module have no configuration for Gateway and DNS i tried to change it but i get the same error You have. Did you find something else in Your research, the last message I can see in this thread is You started sharing emails. Thanks a lot for Your Help

I made all the necessary steps, but when the downgrade starts it always gets stack at 32 of 448. I have firmware 4.40

@earmero Try reset IP150 module to factory defaults @johnym30 Maybe paradox changed upgrade procedure in firmware 4.40. Send me log file

@nezmogus thanks for Your answer, I already made a factory reset but the result is the same The module recieve Ip address but no Gateway or DNS configured.

Hi everyone. I finaly managed to downgrade to 1.32.001!!!!By reading some comments above i realized that many people had problems with windows 10, so i created a Windows 7 VM and set up the proxy there. I logged in to the module and it shows finally shows 1.32.001!!!!

If anybody interested in more detailed firmware file structure or communication protocol with paradox upgrade server, let me know. I will write what i know.

Hi! Nice job on the firmware, I successfully could downgrade the IP150 from 4.4 to 1.39. I'd like to make a tool with more features, to make other version able to run on new IP150 modules. Please share with me how did you decrypted and then rebuilt the PUF file, I'd make a tool that will do that automatically with all versions. Thank you!

@resetcoder Hi. What purpose of downgrade to other versions? As i mentioned earlier, versions after 1.39 have only features for InsiteGold app and don't have direct access using BabyWare anymore, except maybe v4.4x (I heard, that in this version BabyWare direct connection is back, but can't confirm that), older than 1.39 have some bugs. This is why i choose v1.39 version for downgrade. Also, after downgrading to this version you will not be able to upgrade or downgrade IP150 firmware anymore. Maybe this is possible, but i don't know how. I'm happy with my v1.39 and i don't wont spend my time anymore for unnecessary tasks.. :)

@nezmogus I don't really care about the management softwares, interfacing the system is much more interesting and much more freedom instead of restricted features. I've made a perfectly working proxy application based on yours (thanks for the good job!), I can upload any firmwares on the IP Module, just the older than 4.0 version do not validate due to the inproper footer at the end of the file, as you already pointed out. Since any PUF file is possible to upload to the IP module with this program but only patched versions work under 4.0 I'd like to implement automatic firmware patching, maybe later complete up/downgrade server simulation. I'm on my way to have these accomplished, just it would be better if I don't need to waste a lot of time finding the file structure/crypt algorhitm/writing key finder scripts.

Correction: It can connect to all IP150 module versions (event >4.0)

i cant downgrade, whatever i try...:( steps i take: 1) log to paradox evo192 via http and change dns to my pc ip. 2) request http..../reset.html 3) set up dns server on my pc and add dns a-record for upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com that points to my ip. 4) launch in-field 5.2.3. 5) in my dns activty log i see some lookups from paradox ip that look for api.insightgoldatpmh.com but i think it comes from http when i update dns.. 6) no other lookups...

You don't need to set DNS in the module, it should lookup anything it wants using regular DNS, but you need to set up the routing only for upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com to point at your computer. You also don't need any software to initiate the upgrading process, just disconnect the module from the alarm, keep pressing the reset button on the module while reconnecting it, then release the button. It will start upgrade process automatically, and would want to connecto to upgrade server, that if is redirected to your computer then the proxy program will inject the firmware in the communication.

You need only a router that will allow you override and redirect TCP connections of an address to your computer, or using custom NAT settings on custom routing device.

If you could not connect with pai, create an issue there and provide debug log. We will help you.

But I recommend you to downgrade.

Thanks, when i will be back home from work in the evening i will paste the exact error. but the exceptions was due to the network and socket. on connect method in line 59 of ip_connection.py i get an error that socket already used or already connected....

it seems that there is nothing to read after it sends the first packet to the socket.

Luckily, I found this thread, and I would like to thank everyone who helped to solve this problem, especially nezmogus !

I would like to share my experience, even if many things have already been said.

First of all, for the DNS redirection, I took this opportunity to install the great "PiHole" (https://pi-hole.net ; it's a kind of Ad-blocker, but at DNS level, on you LAN. So it works even for your phones for example and also saves you bandwith.) I did it on my Synology, via Docker (and "macvlan" for the network). Just edit the /etc/hosts on the PiHole and add the line : "your_local_pc_IP upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com", then do a "pihole restartdns".

Then, you don't need the Paradox software BabyWare to do the downgrade. Just reset the module, and it will start an update.

Paradox changed its IP address of "upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com" : in April 2019, it's 3.95.136.210 (Amazon cloud). You can verify this by using this URL for example : https://dig.whois.com.au/dig/upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com (click on the red "Do live DNS lookup" button).

TVPfwd.exe does run under Windows 10 : just start a command prompt (I only tried with admin rights) with the command :

TVPfwd.exe 192.168.2.1 10000 3.95.136.210 10000 IP150_V1_32_001_ENG_downgrade_from_v4.xx.PuF

... and then, reset IP150.

After a couple of minutes, the process will begin. It may stop . Don't worry, after a couple of minutes, it will restart. This can happen a couple of times.

After the 448 packets, you can stop TVPfwd.exe. Then you MUST perform a HARD reset of the IP150 module, using a needle into the reset hole. Otherwise, the next reset / power off will update the firmware to the last version !

Initially, my IP150 module was in 4.20, with bootloader 2.13.002. During my various tests, I accidentally upgraded my IP150 to the 4.40 firmware (latest version in April 2019). The bootloader didn't change and remained 2.13.002. Then, I was able to downgrade to 1.32 (and same bootloader).

I have the latest 2.14.000 bootloader with 4.40.004 fw.

But when trying to upgrade from In Field, it's saying "you are about to transfer the same firmware version, do you wish to proceed anyway?" and in firewall/connection i can see:

192.168.2.5:4097 to 3.95.136.210:10000 established.

Is something changed?

Hello!

I downgraded using nezmogus TVP software an ip150 module this week.

What i have learned is that i had to redirect both: upgrade.insightgoldatpmh.com and upgr.insightgoldatpmh.com to my pc's ip.

As nezgomus told me, one restart of the module, drops the 1.32 fw and the bootloader updates the fw to the latest version. The way to stop this is to HARD reset the ip150 using the pinhole but after that, i don't exactly understand why, the 1.32 fw stays in place without (ever?) being able to downgrade or upgrade it again. I personally chose not to fix this fw in place forever, because I am not that happy with 1.32 firmware. The 1.4 firmware was much quicker in iParadox connection from my iPhone and did not had any glitches in connection. Was hoping that nezgomus will make a 1.4 firmware that i could downgrade to my ip150, and then i would fix it. Don't know if that will happen :) Hope so.

Well, anyway, thanx to nezgomus for doing a super job and to you all who have posted here with infos.

Next time i will think twice before doing "upgrades" :) (fu paradox!)

How did you do it? I downloaded the latest babyware with 5.2.3 infield and I am getting Unable to retrieve list of update files from server.

I forgot to mention: only with BabyWare 5.1 was I able to downgrade!

Latest babyware has some other update mechanism and nezmogus’s proxy wont work!

use sysinternals tcpview to see, maybe any other software uses 10000 port.

I stuck here. I using the http://pi/reset.html to reset. but after half an hour still nothing happen.

For those who using Windows 10 for IP150 downgrade: allow TVPfwd in firewall and start TVPfwd as administrator.

Hi all. The latest firmware allows you to switch the SWAN server on or off. When it is set to off it works like the older firmware did with direct IP connection. Hope this helps. Swan

I just sold my updated version of ip150 and bought a second 1.4 ip150 with extra money!

Can someone confirm that iParadox works with the latest fw?

I had 4.40 installed and it did not accept iParadox app.

Being able to put a static ip doest not mean the old static connection through iParadox is back.

Babyware works and InField also , but I just cant go in the menu using the local ip to change the options I use to , still the basic menu , and also I dont see any where to turn off SWAN Cloud , any ideas

ok, where is this, we still using InsiteGold, I have a dynDNS entry, and can do a port forward, so guessing I don't need the SWAN service. if I use this code, and want to connect in with InsiteGold, whats the behaviour, seem to remember that previous one of the sides broke.

Wanted to use the RS232 project direct connection but at the moment with the IP150 in play I can't although it would be great if the other project could write a packet relay feature on the D1mini. I need InSiteGold on the iPhones to keep working, but would be great if I can integrate my paradox system with HA. (biggest mistake i made was buy another paradox system after we moved, when ever i get money will move over to a IDS) current FW is 4.40.04 boot loader, 2.13 G

Apologies for reviving a semi-dead thread, but i'm stuck. And after ordering a 2nd ip150, that was meant to be < 4 firmware, but was actually upgraded, I now have 2 of the things i'm trying to downgrade.

I have spent weeks trying to figure this out but i'm stuck and need some help.

what i've done so far: I've installed pi-hole on a pi on my network, which is then acting as my DNS server. (my router can't do DNS forwarding) I've set pi-hole to forward certain domains to my pc, which i'll run tvpfwd on. That pc's ip is 192.168.1.4

sudo pihole -a hostrecord softwareupdate.paradox.com 192.168.1.4 sudo pihole -a hostrecord insightgoldatpmh.com 192.168.1.4 sudo pihole -a hostrecord dp-gw-na.amazon.com 192.168.1.4 sudo pihole -a hostrecord paradox.com 192.168.1.4

this part seems to work. when i ping or tracert the above domains, it goes direct to 192.168.1.4

I've turned off my PC firewall, and router firewall to be safe

then i run the TVPfwd command (running it as administrator) TVPfwd.exe 192.168.1.4 10000 3.95.136.210 10000 IP150_V1_32_001_ENG.PUF

nothing happens. I reset the ip150, but nothing ever happens on the window that TVPfwd is running in.

I then tried using Infield. When i log in, i can then see it trying to look for updated firmware.

but i just get a "no new firmware on server" message in Infield.

I couldn't find the firmware mentioned in this post, so i'm trying with fw i downloaded - is that an issue, can i use any firmware?

it seems the domain has changed, its looking at softwareupdate.paradox.com . but this still resolves to the same ip that was mentioned in this thread. Does this change anything?

does TVPfwd need to be updated? or is there another way to host the firmware files

Any ideas on what else i can try?

hi nezmogus, Thanks for the info i have the same problem with ip 150 recently i was decided to update my ip150 module, used infield software, available version is 4,the module was updated but not completely succeed, now there is no web page, it can not connect to control panel, cannot chage ip address, i can only ping the module, and find in infiled search field, the firmware version is 'none', bootloader version is 2.13, i can not update or downgrade the module, infield say: unable to connect, error code 33. its seems there is no firmware on module how can i recover firmware or install firmware on it?

what country you are from? How fast and stable internet you have? If I'm remember correctly, in ebikarim's casei internet was really slow and unstable and IP150 wasn't be able to download latest firmware in recovery mode. Maybe same situation in your case? What happened with your IP150?

@nezmogus Thanks for the reply. We have a very fast and reliable connection. I think the IP150 is in recovery mode and cannot connect to the internet because I have previously configured it with a static IP without a default gateway. I can for some reason not set it to DHCP using the IP Exploring tools or via Babyware's Locate IP Device On network feature as everytime I do the current settings remain or I get a "Operation timeout, no valid answer received from module" message. I have tried resetting the device as well without luck. I think the initial upgrade to version 4.10 failed and left it in this state.

i tried but i am not able to downgrade. i downloaded the firmware IP150_V1_32_001_ENG.PUF. i reset the ip150 i run TVPfwd.exe 192.168.1.181 10100 3.95.136.210 10100 IP150_V1_32_001_ENG.PUF where 192.168.1.181 is the address of my pc i opened the firewall i blocked swam with "parental control" but tvpfwd creates a file with "2019.09.22 19:36:50 373 START: 2019.09.22 19:36:50 " and nothing other. in-field (with the transfer process" upgrade to latest firmware. any help please? thanks a lot

@nezmogus i followed your instructions but nothing happens when a start the CMD command. It seems the IP changed. Even with the new one nothing happens.

There is your problem. Read all instructions in this thread carefully. No one mentioned "parental control" as solution..
