I liked the overall design lay out of the app. It is really brief as it includes so much information on just one page. While I was using the app, there was slight problem with the sizing of the app. It had a horizontal scroll bar which is not required as the graphs fit the page perfectly (could be just my system)
The app answers all the three research questions pretty well. The app caters really well to the audience when it allows the user to select a specific director or multiple directors to show the IMDB rating and world wide profits for the movies of that director.
One thing that I want to add is that the heading would be more effective if it would have been aligned in the center.
The choice of default by showing the data for Action movies is a good choice. If it is not random and has any specific relation to the research question, it should have been mentioned. But its fine, if it is chosen randomly.
I liked brief narrative and instructions you have added. Everything is really to the point. But I think that the instructions can be more involving as you have tried to involve the user in the description by saying “to find your director for your next movie”
The line graphs shows all IMDB rating and profits for all the directors once the genre is selected which makes the line graph difficult to read. It would be helpful to add a tooltip on the line graph also showing just the name of the director so that the user can easily identify that this line belongs to this particular director in case the user finds a particular trend of a line really interesting. As the list of the directors is long, tool tip would really serve the purpose in this case.
I really enjoyed the readme file of this app. I found it really informative before using the app.
Overall, I really enjoyed using this app. Aesthetics of the app are really pleasant. I liked the way you have packed so much information in just three plots.
