Dear John,

The 250 000 database was made many years ago, unfortunately without filling out all the data in the different fields. The main purpose then was the lithology. We are now working with a revised database where we try to fill out more elements like the age, stratigraphy, and we will also update it with new mapping. This database will probably not be available until the end of this year (hopefully!). If you are interested in age we have a geochronological data base which is also available at our home page (see under application). Unfortunately this is not possible to download, but if you are interested in can give it to you as a shape file. At least you can see where the Precambrian and Paleozoic (Caledonian) granites are distributed, but to recode the whole data base is a tremendous work.
