Points have been added @cambro . The final shapefile is titled "Points".

I assigned the point_type "fault surface" to points with the descriptions "dip of fault" and "rake".

The rake points have arrowaz (fault azimuth) and arrowdip (fault dip) data, which I moved to the updated strike and dip fields. I did not move the rake angle (diamdip) or rake azimuth (diamaz) data into updated fields.

I did not add data into updated fields for points with the description "strike-slip". These points have strike values which I am guessing is the strike of the fault planes, however these points all had a dip value of zero which seemed odd to me, as I would expect these fault planes to be close to vertical. Because of the confusion here I did not add updated data for these points.

I also did not add data into updated fields for points with the description "minor anti w/ plunge" or "syncline". This is because it is unclear if the original strike and dip fields are referring to fold beds (strike/dip) or fold axes (trend/plunge).

I did not extrapolate dip directions for this map.

This is the metadata describing the points:

The item 'dip' is the angle that the bed dips from the horizontal. The item 'azimuth' is the direction of strike of the bed using azimuthal measurements (N = 0, E = 90, S = 180, W = 270) The item 'marker' is used to specify the symbol from geoscamp1.mrk used for plotting. The item 'description' provides a brief explanation of the symbol type. The item 'arrowaz' is used to specify the azimuth of a fault dip. The item 'diamaz' is used to specify the azimuth of a fault rake. The item 'arrowdip' is used to specify the angle associated with a fault dip arrow symbol. The item 'diamdip' is used to specify the angle associated with a fault rake diamond symbol.
