[TF2] Players can bypass equip region restrictions using the +quickswitch command. #4055

Open gurfan opened 2 years ago

gurfan commented 2 years ago

The quickswitch menu does not check for equip region conflicts on some cosmetics. Using the quickswitch menu allows players to equip cosmetics that would normally conflict. This happens with cosmetics with the whole_head equip region.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the quickswitch menu using +quickswitch
  2. Equip a whole_head cosmetic that would normally conflict.

I would just like to remind everybody that this git tracker is specifically only for tracking bugs, and no decision on what gets fixed and how something is changed is not based off of here if you have feedback on the game, please share it with the TF2 team via email.

kisak, and anybody involved in this tracker are not TF2 developers, and this constant arguing only serves to add noise.

Considering the bug has been "fixed", shouldn't the issue be closed?

Fix has been reverted as Valve evaluates

what???

I really urge the TF Team to document this bug as a feature. It’s simply been around too long and as shown, the results of removing it have been disastrous. It has become a part of the game.

They removed valid hat combinations (ie Gibus+Pyrovision) initially in the process of fixing the bug. I wouldn't put hope on the TF Team to restore/keep this bug.

Everyone makes mistakes, even Valve employees. Plus, a fix was pushed within a few hours.

Gambling addiction? You mean the number 1 revenue stream from TF2 and CSGO?

Why do people feel it necessary to alienate a part of the community? We all love TF2. Some of us greatly enjoyed the wacky combinations you could make. This isn't just about unusuals.

The wacky cominations were restored after Valve realized they removed most of it while fixing this bug.

Now, from what i have heard - everything has been restored to the way it was now
