bugaboo commented 7 years ago

Your system information

https://gist.github.com/anonymous/125a736ad43cde55a691bef64529b772

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After I play for about 10 min steam kicks me out with a message "no user logon" I tried complete steam reinstall, helped for the first session only.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Play for 10-20 min.
MarcinWieczorek commented 7 years ago

I can confirm. My system info is similar.

Gesbrener commented 7 years ago

iam have a similar problem. captura de tela de 2017-09-17 14-06-32

Gesbrener commented 7 years ago

Good morning, yesterday I made some tests exchanging the linux update server and disabling the security updates, in my case I use a Brazilian server and changing it to a portuguese server and disabling the security updates the error did not repeat itself, I played around 5 competitive games without the error in question.

Gesbrener commented 7 years ago

Good morning, yesterday I was able to play several competitive games without being disconnected.

cravacuore commented 7 years ago

This also happen to me when having internet goes offline for a second. It needs to restart entire Steam for the error to not show up again.

cdutr commented 6 years ago

Changing the game language fixed the problem for me.

krompus commented 6 years ago

@CarlosDutra changing the game language to which language? I would assume, based on your name, from Portuguese to US English? Have you had the error since?

Now I'm wondering if my game is set to Canadian/UK English. Looking into it.

cdutr commented 6 years ago

No, actually I changed from US English to Brazilian portuguese. I didn't have the problem since.

I am playing in Brazilian server, and my OS is ubuntu 16.04, also in portuguese.

zootboy commented 6 years ago

I also get this issue, and it seems to happen after an internet outage or prolonged suspend then resume. Restarting / re-logging into Steam is the only fix for it.

TerminalMan commented 6 years ago

The problem might be related to an external IP change. It frequently happens when my isp drops me.

Especially annoying on linux as restarting the steam client isn't a straight forward thing after this bug occurred.

Closing the client takes ages. It's busy "syncing with the cloud"

bugaboo commented 6 years ago

The problem might be related to an external IP change.

Then I would presume it would happen on windows as well, which for me is working fine. Also, I get the same issue when playing CS 1.6 on linux.

krompus commented 6 years ago

@TerminalMan it's most likely the external IP change. It happens when my connection drops for a split second. It does take ages to restart the Steam client, which is the only thing that fixes it. Hopefully we can get a comment from Valve here.

It's really frustrating being "that guy who disconnects during comp", and hard to explain to teammates.

flaphoschi commented 6 years ago

Happens to me to on GNU/Linux with Fedora 26. CS:GO reports a "CONNECTION PROBLEM" while my internet obviously still works (so maybe the daily IPv4 change or something similiar). A reconnect from within CS:GO doesn't help long, after a half minute or so it says "NO USER LOGON". Didn't happend during spring and earlier, this seems to appeared through some change in summer/autumn.

Nov 11 21:58:18 pancake NetworkManager[675]: [1510433898.9400] policy: set 'enp3s0' (enp3s0) as default for IPv6 routing and DNS Nov 11 21:58:18 pancake dnsmasq[1049]: reading /etc/resolv.conf Nov 11 21:58:18 pancake dnsmasq[1049]: using nameserver 192.168.1.1#53 Nov 11 21:58:18 pancake dnsmasq[1049]: using nameserver 2003:6c:cd45:9f00:4af8:b3ff:fef1:d4e7#53 Nov 11 21:58:18 pancake dnsmasq[1049]: using nameserver 2003:6c:cd6e:9600:4af8:b3ff:fef1:d4e7#53

This caused the issue and my NetworkManager still isn't sure if I'm connected to the internet, while I'm posting here. Does Steam rely on NetworkManager-Connectivity-Status? I noticed, that my desktop currently doesn't use a fixed IPv4. I will set one because I prefered that in the past.

vanitasvitae commented 6 years ago

This error happens to me too quite often. This is really annoying, especially since starting up counter strike takes ~2-3 mins for some reason, so it frequently happens, that I get no XP for my match :/ I'm using Arch Linux with Gnome shell.

x1y commented 6 years ago

The same happens to me daily since the last update. I get kicked at least once every match with the mentioned error message.

flaphoschi commented 6 years ago

I use now a fixed IPv4 (and a dynamic IPv6) on my system and it worked for some hours without a flaw. Assuming Systemd and NetworkManager it is probably good idea to restart NetworkManager after the modification i.e. systemctl restart NetworkManager.service.

vanitasvitae commented 6 years ago

I'd really appreciate a fix for this amd other annoxing problems, which are known for a long time, instead of pumpkins as chicken heads...

x1y commented 6 years ago

@voidhoschi Your issue is most likely caused by your system and not related to the bug report. Note that your system is losing the connection for a second and this is the reason why you get kicked. I don't see how a bugfix in the game is supposed to fix your system isssues. Also note that users affected by this issue get kicked without dropping connection, which is a (new) bug in the software.

vanitasvitae commented 6 years ago

@funeralchris The issue is that once you get kicked once (because of lost connection for a second), you'll constantly get kicked again and again after rejoining, even if the connection is stable again. Only a full steam + cs restart fixes the issue.

flaphoschi commented 6 years ago

@funeralchris: I don't say it is a fix, in best case this is a workaround, in worst case this is a false positive. I've just pocked around and bet on a behaviour change on the side of NetworkManager through a new DHCP-Lease or something like that.

jonaias commented 6 years ago

Got the same problem here.

Archlinux, KDE, in Brazil, with us-en localization

1-Started a competivive match 2-ISP connection droped 3-Connected using cellphone mobile data with USB tethering 4-Reconnected to ISP after it came back online 5-Game started dropping every 1min- completely unplayable

jralmaraz commented 6 years ago

Hi,

Same issue happening here here, using kubuntu 14.04.

Getting disconnected with no user logon.

Seeing this message constantly on the logs.

Cheers.

process 4356: arguments to dbus_connection_unref() were incorrect, assertion "connection->generation == _dbus_current_generation" failed in file ../../dbus/dbus-connection.c line 2804. This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

ChristophHaag commented 6 years ago

I get randomly (after 20-90 minutes) dropped from Wargames games with No User Logon and when trying to go into the game again, it shows "Matchmaking unavailable". screenshot_20171203_113007 After a while it starts working again.

I was assuming it was just the Servers being unstable, but more people would complain about that, right?

davmin commented 6 years ago

Experiencing this issue following a disconnect due to internet loss. After rejoining I get kicked with no user log on at approximately 3 seconds before the round begins every time. I restarted steam, running the beta version with no results. Running up to date Arch.

nightsky30 commented 6 years ago

I've experienced the issue with matchmaking being reported as unavailable as well with reference to issue #1558. First a disconnect, then matchmaking goes bonkers.

demiters commented 6 years ago

I also experienced this after a short loss of connection, on Ubuntu 16.04

ckarrie commented 6 years ago

Same here, happens frequently on competitive mode - casual mode works fine in 90%

sohampandya00 commented 6 years ago

same here .. please solve it.

ChristophHaag commented 6 years ago

Here's one on video https://youtu.be/hLfrRaBQ1wM?t=306 I don't see anything specific triggering it, it just happens randomly. So I really thought it's just server failures. But come on, it's happening so often, there should be lots more complaints if it is.

nightsky30 commented 6 years ago

@ChristophHaag , do you get any console errors when that happens?

insanity54 commented 6 years ago

I have the same issue on Ubuntu 17.10. It's a new laptop, so fresh installs of everything. I am on Wi-Fi, and I do have a dual-WAN router but I'm locked on WAN1 unless it fails (which is rare). Problem observed twice in 20 minutes when playing offline against bots.

Linux gaming is a meme

vanitasvitae commented 6 years ago

The whole Windows OS from 8 upwards is a meme, but lets not start one of those OS flame wars.

icyphox commented 6 years ago

I fixed it by killing dhcpd, which kept messing with my IP.

# systemctl stop dhcpd

zootboy commented 6 years ago

@icyphox That is a bad idea, and is likely to cause problems on your network if you continue to use a DHCP-assigned IP address past its expiration.

The root problem is likely Steam failing to re-establish its login session after it drops for any number of reasons, including local IP change, public IP change, wifi dropouts, sleep/hibernation, etc. Hopefully a Valve employee is working on solving this issue properly.

MarcinWieczorek commented 6 years ago

I use a static IP, the issue still persisted when my WiFi quality was poor. I just switched to Ethernet, but that was only my case.

thbertoldi commented 6 years ago

same problem here, only able to play after restarting steam. Running steam on an up to date Arch.

renatovassao commented 6 years ago

Same thing here, running in Arch Linux with poor internet connection. Only fix is complete steam restart.

krompus commented 6 years ago

How come this never happens in casual? When playing casual, I have a perfect connection; never any connection issues unless my internet truly gets disconnected. Low ping, all is good. Comp, though, I'm lucky to make it through one match without disconnecting abruptly. What's the difference?

JAicewizard commented 6 years ago

I have a perfectly stable internet connection, 1gb/s fibre, same network several data centres are on. cant imagine 7 connection drops in half an hour. DHCP is disabled, so I guess it has to be the router messing with stuff. but I set that up a year ago and haven't had to change anything about it since. today is the first time it happened. maybe its that CSGO is built on older drivers, the (arch) Linux drivers specs just don't match.(or vise-versa ofc)

luckmi commented 6 years ago

I'm also having the same problem. I hope for a solution or as soon as possible. captura de tela_2018-02-18_13-26-19

luckmi commented 6 years ago

I think it's not a connection problem, because Windows does not have this problem, as well as a desktop integration solution. When you look for this error on YouTube, it gives you a solution for Windows, and it's not about connection, but interaction on the desktop.

infomiho commented 6 years ago

I have recently had this problem, will there be a fix for this?

Xubuntu 17.10

ckarrie commented 6 years ago

I can't find a workaround for that. Even I tried to restart steam immediately after accepting to a MM match i got kicked during the session. DM and Casual working fine.

Confirming this issue. If internet drops out for any interval and I get disconnected, steam must be restarted else I will keep getting "no steam logon" every few minutes.

rsd commented 6 years ago

Same issue. Kubuntu 17.10. Happens when router reconnects to ISP. It only gets stable again after restarting steam. Changing to pt-br to see what happens.

rsd commented 6 years ago

Change the language and it still happens. It also happens when switching routers (changing local IP). Probably NetworkManager related issue/dependency.

koutsie commented 6 years ago
