This renders the game unplayable for mac users. Please fix it.
Can confirm. After the new update, holding the right/left button of the mouse makes the sensitivity really high, making it impossible to control the crosshair.

Same issue for me! Jumping is fine. Holding down mouse 1/2 and switching weapons triggers it for me.

Off topic, MarcoSDomingues, how's CS:GO performing for you on the Iris? What's the lowest fps are you getting? Considering of jumping over to the rMBPs...
It happens every time i press any of my mouse buttons. Left/Right buttons and side buttons. Shooting, weapon switching and jumping are all binded to my mouse buttons.
Please find a solution (revert to previous update most probably?) as Mac users are not able to play at all.
I am having this issue combined with my pointer stuck on my crosshair. This makes it so i have to double click to shoot and then my mouse goes whack.
As other users have pointed out, and I've tested (logitech G302 gaming mouse) all mouse buttons (only 5 on my mouse), even unbinded ones, cause the high sensitivity issue for me.
Some of the buttons (two secondary funtion buttons, random behaviour), when pressed, causes the cursor to appear over the crosshair rendering mouse1 to be unable to trigger ( #929 ).
Logitech Gaming Software is not running (known to cause issues in CS:GO for me). MacBook Specs Posted above.
Same problem here, it was working fine yesterday, but not anymore. It only happens when I click mouse one, if I click mouse 4 (rapid fire macro) it doesn't cause the high sensitivity issue. I also had a problem with the cursor, it was showing the cursor exactly when the crosshair stays, I've restarted and it didn't happen again. Hope it get it fix soon.
Regards!
VALVE DO U EVEN TEST YOUR UPDATES ON MAC?!?!?
It forces me to use keyboard to shoot and use scope, this way is normal ;D
WTF is this update? Seriously guys? The sensitivity is all over the place.
EDIT: Can you provide a mechanism to revert update to a previous "working" version?
by the way... yes i have the same issu, fps lags, mouse doing what it wants. cant play anymore ;(
@shripadk: yeah would be an option, but eh ... no ;-)
@SAWSAWSAW I use mwheelup for +attack2 and mwheeldown for +attack haha. No more bhop knife suicides for me now till it get fixed lol..
Valve... Pls fix...
u guys got smoothmouse? tried to deactivate it?
@Mindrush I tried it and the mouse doesnt even move
after system restart mouse works, but csgo is shit without. poor native mouse compatibility and configuration
side mouse buttons for me also set off this issue
Same here. csgo is unplayable since today's update. When I hold the mouse button, my sensitivity goes to over 9000. Disabling the SmoothMouse app fixes the issue, but the mouse lag makes the game unplayable without SmoothMouse.
Fuck this valve even not testing their updates... i cant play matchmaking now. BULLSHIT UPDATES
Same issue as previous users. Unplayable, boring and totally useless. The game was playable yesterday, worked perfectly fine and today you've destroyed it once again.
The same problem here. Also I am using smoothmouse when playing. Before launching csgo the touchpad works as normal. After playing it(though I cannot really play it with the great latest update) the touchpad behaves weird unless I enable smoothmouse for the touchpad too. Can you just revert your "update"? Everything was good yesterday.
Update: I think it has something to do with the smoothmouse (which I think every Mac player is using). When I disable smoothmouse and play the game, nothing weird is observed (except that the game is unplayable with the origin odd mouse movement in mac). Then I enabled smoothmouse and start the game, high sensitivity problem turns out when pressing mouse 1.
Same here, unplayable ... getting a 2h ban for leaving an unplayable MM...
You guys can take a look at this video I recorded showing how unplayable it has become since the latest update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om5iYvrBi3A (currently at 240p. will take time for youtube to process the video to render at higher res).
Please revert this update!
Ok, Im not sure if this is the problem but Smoothmouse is a 32bit program... After the update CS:GO became a 64bit client, therefore the smoothmouse program seems to be incompatible with the game(this causes the mouse lag and random spasms). This is what I think, I'm not 100% sure. Also disabling smoothmouse makes CS:GO un-responsive (same with steam) So I'm not entirely sure how this can be fixed. This is why I would like Valve to reconsider putting the 64bit client as a Beta for now until it is fully functional and for now revert to the 32bit client as it was working fine with good results, the only issues that were visible were the crashes which appeared once in a while. the 64 bit update has fixed them but then new more drastic issues appeared. I would like to thank Valve for trying to fix the so far issues with the game, but for now I and I'm sure a lot of other Mac users would like to receive a update on when the possible fix will be released or at least a average time it would take for the developer team to come up with a temporary fix.
Once again thank you.
@NikoCSGO Not so. The 64 bit update was released almost a week ago. No mouse issues until the most recent update (today).
@shripadk Indeed it has been released about a week ago. Yet there had to be something in the recent update that triggered the weird movement within the mouse in-game. In fact, could you turn smoothmouse off (if you use it) and check if the mouse responds in Steam and CS:GO? If you could that would be great, that way we will be sure that its something to do with the program's compatibilty with the game. For now I'm unsure because I only know that it doesn't work for me. Thanks.
@NikoCSGO As I said before in the comment section, playing csgo with smoothmouse turned off makes the mouse not move.
@NikoCSGO As I said earlier there were no mouse issues even with SmoothMouse turned on for the past 1 week (64 bit being released a week ago). This issue started only with today's update. So whatever Valve did to mess up the mouse issues was only with today's update. Yes there is no spazzing when SmoothMouse is turned off but it introduces OSX based mouse acceleration. Most of us started using SmoothMouse only to get rid of the OSX based mouse acceleration. To turn off SmoothMouse defeats the very purpose of having it in the first place.
EDIT: There were no issues with SmoothMouse compatibility with the game since 1 week of 64 bit update. So no, this issue has definitely to do with Valve messing something up in the today's update.
@shripadk Yeah I know, thanks for your opinion. As I said before all the smoothmouse incompatibility was just an assumption... As you correctly stated the problem appeared with todays update.
Yes, same issue with me. Holding down Mouse1 and Mouse2 makes the sensitivity super high and the normal sensitivity is also somewhat lower than usual 👎 Valve pls fix
Confirmed.
I have SmoothMouse installed. The game is unplayable. 😢
@NikoCSGO Don't you think they should just make a 64 bit version of smoothmouse then?
No. A 64 bit version of smooth mouse may not necessarily solve the problem. Valve has messed up in game mouse acceleration and sensitivity. Not merely a problem of smooth mouse.
@harryxue1999 oh damn welp it was worth a shot
damn all we can do now is either find a fix or let valve patch it, but because of this im gonna be worried when valve fix this if there'll be any more bugs
Still not smooth mouse's issue. If Valve screws up, you cannot avoid it by telling other applications to fix. This is not the correct way of application development.
well i didnt say it was smoothmouse's issue im just saying we could just find a fix ourselves or let valve fix it
Here is how i fixed this issue: Edit: OR NOT! For me, this was caused by SmoothMouse. There are other methods to disable OS X mouse accelerating.
defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1
in console, this will disable mouse acceleration on all users.Edit: OS X doesn't seem to support this option (com.apple.mouse.scaling) anymore, or at least it doesn't always seem to affect the mouse behaviour? I kinda spoke too soon. Anyways, I'm back to SmoothMouse. Default OS X accelerating is infuriating.
then again we also use smoothmouse to change our sensitivity close to the way window's sensitivity is configured
@Lokiiii Hi, as other people said the issue might not be caused by smoothmouse being a 32bit program but by valve interigating with the 3rd party programs by accident. Personally I think it might be worth a try to ask smoothmouse to update the software to 64bit instead of 32bit. On the other hand as others said the issue came up with the todays update and everything (to do with the mouse in-game) worked fine. So it is probably something to do with valves coding.
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH 64 BIT OR 32 BIT
good fix by the way axuttaja, but the csgo osx mouse configuration is poor and feels severely different from my regular windows csgo experience
smooth mouse is invasive and performs acceleration and deceleration to improve users mouse experience. csgo has issues on mac with allowing raw mouse input, and i believe is being equally as invasive upon mouse position and movement acceleration (as of the recent update).
Why this is triggered with a mouse keydown event is beyond me.
@gyurikol This might be a bit off topic.. but since you sound like you know what you're talking about, do you know why mac cannot have the mouse raw input enabled? and why the game is having all those issues after the recent update?
I'm sure everyone would like to know, so if you know the answer to any of those questions I'll be very grateful if you could provide it here. Thanks
@gyurikol Exactly! SmoothMouse enabled feels really close to the Windows version (especially if you are using the Acceleration "Like in Windows" feature). If I have to disable SmoothMouse I would rather just uninstall CS.
@gyurikol Because Valve puts it in the coding.
@shripadk Me too man, CS feels like garbage if SmoothMouse is turned off.
dont know about raw input, never has worked for me from the start (had csgo since october last year)
after reading many threads, it is evident that csgo has had mouse and sensitivity changes in the recent updates "for all operating systems".
i think csgo doesnt like smooth mouse invading on mouse position. as i said before, smooth mouse likes to assist in accelerating and decelerating mouse movement and tracks mouse position in the mean time
i believe csgo is doing the same thing (as of recent update) and it has become a "tug of war" to say that both programs are battling it off for preference in mouse acceleration and movement. hence the wacky spinning movements. why this is triggered by a mouse keydown event is the real issue
maybe smooth mouse tracks mouse key events ?!?!? illuminati confirmed???
all this would be fixed if csgo allowed raw mouse input and didnt have shit configurations for mouse usage on mac osx
Perhaps we should ask valve to somehow work on enabling the raw input instead of finding the new fix that probably wont work...
we are currently writing on the best and closest medium to let them know
I downloaded the newest patch today and when i start shooting or jumping the sensitivity of the mouse gets higher. When you stop shooting or jumping the sensitivity gets back to normal. It also happens when you switch weapons. I am also playing on a second monitor.
