Using mapped network drives with the installer

Currently there is a problem that mapped network drives are not "working" Course is the service (account) that doesn't have those setup or doesn't support.

Would it be possible to chose what service account to run SickRage with during installation.?

@neoatomic can you take a look at #6 and see if that method is acceptable? We could certainly add some options around how to start SR during the install process too, but trying to KIS.

@VinceVal. Any update to this? I've screwed up my windows sickrage install pretty bad by trying to switch over to this new repo, and it's basically unusable for me at the moment. Would love to get this working so we can select mapped network drives. :-)

@kendog819 one of the easiest ways to fix this is to use a network path such as \\server\share instead of the drive letter.

I really have no idea how to do that @OmgImAlexis. I have a WDTV that it was being sent to + an external hdd that was hooked to that.

For example I have a server with the IP of 192.168.1.150 and it's got a share called tv_shows so if you used \\192.168.1.150\tv_shows that'd be the same as using the drive name that it's mapped as.

Ok, but how are you getting sickrage to recognize that? SR is only showing me "C:"

When you go to install on the destination page just type it in instead of using the browse button.

Ok, I understand what you are saying now. Will this work with the way I am currently setup though? I was previously using 2 Network Drives. The WDTV was storing my TV shows, and an External Hdd attached to the wdtv was storing my movies. I had each location mapped separately.

Well since sickrage doesn't handle movies you'd just use that tv show directory for it? Not exactly sure what mean by that... ?

Just to be sure before I do this, because I've been messing with SR for hours.... These are the warnings I'm getting.

I tried using the installer earlier, and couldn't seem to get any of my shows to show up after installing, so I re-did a manual install and manual service creation to get to this point. There is no way of me manually just adding my server location in, without using the installer now, is there?

To be honest I haven't and don't use the windows version so I'm just going off of what I know. Maybe just on IRC and see if someone there can help you more? We use #sickrage-issues on freenode.

I don't use it either, that's my problem. This is my mom's setup. I have mine running off my NAS. And am pretty lost here. I'll try IRC. Or hope @VinceVal gets a 0.5 up soon :)

@kendog819 v0.4 should work for you. Do a clean install and then put your config.ini and sickbeard.db in the data directory.

Then, use the shortcut on the start menu to edit the service and run it as your regular desktop user so it can access the network shares.

From within SR, you can now type UNC paths into the file browser, so you can add locations like \\SERVER\TV to your list.

Do not install to the network path like @OmgImAlexis shows; you still need to install to C:\SickRage (or whatever you like).
