TRIDENT-STEPPER-DECOUPLER - BETA

STEPPER DECOUPLER FOR VORON TRIDEN

**Note: Due to feedback, parts sources from Aliexpress seem to be inconsistent. And some parts have some problems that don't work with some users, so I need more time to test. So please use this mod when looking forward to the experience.*

Stepper decoupler for Nema17 motors. Reduce VFA, make it smoother, quieter, and more sturdy- get rid of the risk of curving the step shaft due to running at high acceleration for a long time.

ASSEMBLE

You don't need to disassemble the entire A/B drive, just loosen the belt, remove the stepper mounting screws, and add components. I can mount this mod without removing the A/B from the frame with a little trick (not recommended)

***THIS IS THE INSTALLATION STEPS FOR B-DRIVE. YOU CAN INSTALL A-DRIVE IN THE SAME WAY.

image

1/ Insert 2 bearings into the plastic part

image

2/ Add heat insert nut

image

3/ Remove 3 M3 screws on B Drive. Be careful not to let the stepper fall ( Extra reminder for sure : No need to disassemble idler bearings)

image

4/ Install the step damper, pay attention to the orientation

image

5/ Assemble the Coupler, Spacer, Idler in the order shown in the picture. Do not tighten the screw, because it still needs to be adjusted.

image

6 /Insert the Stepper into the B-Drive, tighten the screws.

image

image

7/ Adjust the Puller according to the bearing idler.

This is the final step. You can continue to assemble side A with the same steps. Re-tension the belt, recalibrate the Input Shaper and Enjoy !
