☠ Nick ☠: Oh so its like Town traitor from town of salem but every team has a traitor
☠ Nick ☠: and also i dont think we do roleblocking in these games.
derpsnorlax: Oh
derpsnorlax: Idrk
derpsnorlax: Much abt the specifics of this game so
☠ Nick ☠: like if you see any role in the website you wont see a role that roleblocks
☠ Nick ☠: so yeah
☠ Nick ☠: Do their abilities count as normal or are they just a normal grinch?
☠ Nick ☠: like if its a town investigate do they still peform their action at night?
☠ Nick ☠: oh wait i read further
☠ Nick ☠: i see
☠ Nick ☠: but this kinda remind of me of hags
!Phantomtomic: It's hags but they betray their team
☠ Nick ☠: also does every team needs to have a grinch if they are in the game? Like if there are 4 teams (Town,Werewolves, neutral/solo, Unaligned) Does that mean that also Unaligned is a grinch?
☠ Nick ☠: or is it only 3?
!Phantomtomic: Just town and wolves
!Phantomtomic: As stated in the desc
☠ Nick ☠: Yeah but there is also a Grinch Lord
☠ Nick ☠: which kills and heals
!Phantomtomic: "One Grinch is a werewolf, one is a town and one is the Grinch Lord. "
☠ Nick ☠: i dont think we need heal. Heal is kinda overpowered
!Phantomtomic: Heal is equivalent to prot
derpsnorlax:
"One Grinch is a werewolf, one is a town and one is the Grinch Lord. "
I mean, you don't have to take my word for it. It definitely needs balancing before it can be even considered as viable. Ig their numbers would increase or decrease depending on the setup
shapechange: hmm
shapechange: im not sure this super fits the game
shapechange: but it's definitely interesting
☠ Nick ☠:

Also do the grinches have disguises? Are they disguised as their original role or do they appear as grinch from the investigative roles?
huckhuck55: Pretty cool imo. Would make for some very cagey games.
derpsnorlax:

Their roles work the same as their normal roles. Invest results are also same. Grinch is more like a modifier
derpsnorlax: Also this is inspired by United uhc, idk how many ppl know what it is but, yeah
e_thsn: in reality this is a different team that's pretending to be another role, it's kinda like white werewolf for all teams, the issue then is that we'd make it a role and then they'd still have to claim what we give them while that role also exists in the game otherwise people would know because the role the grinch is claiming isn't in the list
TL;DR This is basically a betrayal solo team, if say there was a grinch pretending to be "Scared Wolf" there would be 1 scared wolf listed in the role list but 2 people claiming scared wolf
It really only works for closed lists
shapechange: unless it was specifically made a modifier
☠ Nick ☠: actually yeah a modifier could work on this. But the Grinch Lord will be a legit role in solos right?

Uh what? I don't understand what it means but a random werewolf would get picked as Grinch. Doesn't matter what role the werewolf has. They retain that ability aswell.
derpsnorlax: Ohhh ok I get it
derpsnorlax: Grinch isn't a role
derpsnorlax: It's a modifier
derpsnorlax: Except for Grinch lord
derpsnorlax: A random werewolf gets the Grinch modifier. This can be the alpha wolf, the shaman wolf, whatever.
derpsnorlax: Same with town
derpsnorlax: This works better in mafia where there are more townies and more claimspaces so I wanna retract this suggestion either way
derpsnorlax: The lack of claimspace makes Grinch Lord difficult to play
shapechange:
actually yeah a modifier could work on this. But the Grinch Lord will be a legit role in solos right?
it would be if added
shapechange: again, i'm not sure this is a team/mechanic we'd add to the game
e_thsn:
unless it was specifically made a modifier
Modifiers don't have an alignment they just apply the base role's alignment
shapechange:
Modifiers don't have an alignment they just apply the base role's alignment
ethan do you assume i don't know how this game works
shapechange: it would be different to our current modifiers, obviously, but that isn't to say it couldn't be a modifier
e_thsn: No I was just saying the role wouldn't work as a modifier because it has a different alignment
e_thsn: plus how our alignments work it combines them rather than change them if you have 2
shapechange: there is literally nothing to say that we couldn't add a "this alignment replaces the role's alignment" clause
derpsnorlax: 3 ppl in a game will be grinches
Eg setup: Werewolf Werewolf Werewolf Werewolf One of these werewolves will be randomly chosen to be a Grinch
Some neutral Grinch Lord - Gets a night kill, a roleblock and a heal
Town Town Town Town Town Etc One of the town members will be randomly chosen to be a grinch
The grinches have to betray their teams and win together. The grinches know each other and have a personal chat. One Grinch is a werewolf, one is a town and one is the Grinch Lord. All grinches don't need to be alive to win, as long as one grinch is the last one standing, the grinches win. When only one Grinch is left alive, that Grinch gets nightly kills. If werewolves are completely eliminated including the werewolf Grinch and both the other grinches are still alive, the two grinches get nightly kills with the Grinch Lord deciding the kills.
